Although materials used for dental implants are more than strong enough to withstand the forces exerted by your favorite dish, fatigue will lower their strength over time.

At NIOM, we are very happy to soon have a state of the art system to assess the fatigue properties of dental implants in our lab.

The DYNA5Dent will allow us to conduct fatigue tests with simulated body environments in accordance with ISO 14801. This way, NIOM is able to assess dental implants’ ability to withstand millions of loading cycles, further strengthening our ability to ensure that dental biomaterials are safe and effective.

NIOM also aims to benefit from the fatigue instruments in clinically related research of dental crowns and bridges, evaluating both material properties and clinical designs.
