NIOMs Aida Mulic contributes to new book on erosive tooth wear

Professor Aida Mulic, senior researcher at NIOM, has contributed to the recently published book Erosive Tooth Wear: From Diagnosis to Therapy, which provides a comprehensive overview of current data on how widespread erosive tooth wear is across populations, and especially to variations between age groups, geographic regions, and risk profiles.

Erosive tooth wear has become an increasingly important issue in modern dentistry. It is associated with lifestyle and dietary habits such as the consumption of acidic drinks, but also with health conditions including reflux disease and eating disorders. Understanding its prevalence is critical for developing effective prevention strategies towards the risk individuals, improving clinical practice, and supporting public health initiatives.

The new book brings together contributions from leading international researchers and clinicians, presenting updated insights into diagnosis, prevention, and treatment. Aida Mulic served as expert reviewer for chapter 5: “Global Prevalence of Erosive Tooth Wear”.

Mulic’s contribution highlights NIOM’s role in advancing research and clinical knowledge on oral health challenges of relevance to practitioners, researchers, and public health authorities across the Nordic region and beyond.
