NIOM operates based on assignments from the Norwegian Ministry of Health and Care Services, and from the Nordic Council of Ministers. Our mission and vision are presented in our strategy.

NIOM’s Nordic mandate is anchored in its Board through representatives from the Nordic countries. This ensures Nordic influence on the institute’s priorities and activities, and that NIOM delivers Nordic Added Value within oral health and biomaterials. This supports the goals of social sustainability in Vision 2030 of the Nordic Council of Ministers.
