Dr. Hilde Molvig Kopperud, DSc, is announced as new head of laboratory at NIOM from September 1st.

Dr. Kopperud graduated from Institute of Chemistry, University of Oslo in 1994 and completed the dr. scient. from the same institute in 2001 on properties of modified polyacrylamide. She has served as scientist at Photonyx Ltd, senior scientist at Ignis Display as, and since 2003 as senior scientist at NIOM in the field of polymer chemistry. She is also well qualified in materials testing and standardization and appointed convener within the International Organization for Standardization (ISO TC 106 / SC 2 / WG 10 Resilient lining materials).

Professor Jon E. Dahl, dr odont DSc announced as the new head of NIOM.

Professor Dahl graduated with a dental degree from the University of Oslo in 1976. He gained his DSc in toxicology from the Veterinary College of Norway in 1982 and dr. odont. for histological studies on rat incisor mesenchymal cells and their sensitivity to the anti-tumor agent doxorubicin in 1985. He was appointed to the University of Oslo in 1978 - 84 (oral and general pathology) and to the Department of Environmental Medicine, National institute of public health in Oslo 1984-89. Since 1989 Dahl has hold positions as senior scientist and head of laboratory at NIOM and from 2005 part time professorship in dentistry at the University of Oslo. He takes up his appointment from July 1st, 2011.

DAILY MANAGEMENT OF NIOM
Director Jan Olsson has announced that he wants to quit as chief executive of NIOM and will go into a part-time position as special advisor until 31.03.2011. New date: 15.03.2011
Chair Pål Brodin will serve as executive chairman / CEO in a 20% position from 01/01/2011 until the new director is hired.

Welcome to a NIOM Seminar!

March 10, 2011

NIOM as has moved to new premises in Sognsveien 70 A – across the street from Ullevål Stadion in Oslo and this event will be celebrated on March 10, 2011 with a seminar on biomaterials research. The seminar will be held in English and material scientists will give short insights notably into dental biomaterials research. Participation is without fee and a plain lunch will be served.
