NIOM continues its efforts to contribute to clinical dental knowledge in the Nordic region
Since 2017 professor and senior scientist Aida Mulic from NIOM has been a part of the editorial board of Aktuel Nordisk Odontologi, an annual and highly anticipated publication presenting recent clinical dental research from the Nordic countries.

The journal targets dental professionals and is written by researchers based in the region. All articles are peer-reviewed and aim to present research findings in a format accessible to clinical practice. The editorial board selects articles that reflect current issues and trends in Nordic dentistry, ensuring relevance for practitioners in both public and private sectors.
Mulic’s contribution is part of NIOM’s broader engagement with universities, colleges and public dental health services in the Nordic region. At NIOM, she coordinates research collaborations across national borders and promotes knowledge transfer between clinical environments and academic institutions.
The publication is distributed by Scandinavian University Press and includes articles in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and English, allowing broad accessibility across the Nordic dental community. NIOM researchers regularly contribute content, and the institution’s involvement in the publication is recognized as really valuable by the Nordic Council of Ministers.
The current editorial board consists of Anne Marie Lynge Pedersen (DK), Anne Birkeholm Jensen (DK), Aida Mulic (NO), Gunilla Klingberg (S), Nuno V Hermann (DK), editorial secretary Maria Julie Kvetny, and journal responsible Ida Nicolaisen Almestad.
