About the Nordic Council of Ministers

The Nordic Council of Ministers, formed in 1971, is the forum for Nordic governmental co-operation. The government ministers for all policy areas, except foreign affairs and defence, meet with their Nordic counterparts in biannual Council Sessions. The Nordic Council of Ministers is responsible for 43 institutions within the various fields of Nordic co-operation.
