Monomers and filler content of resin-based crown and bridge materials

Denne artikkelen er over 5 år gammel, og kan inneholde utdatert informasjon.

Abstract

Different analytical methods have been used to investigate the chemical composition of crown and bridge veneering materials. High-performance liquid chromatography with diode array detection system was used for identification and quantification of the monomers in the resin systems. In addition, gas chromatography, infrared spectroscopy and combined gas chromatography/mass spectrometry were applied for identification purposes. Characterization of an oligomeric compound was performed using gel permeation liquid chromatography. The weight fraction of inorganic fillers was determined by combustion analyses and the total filler content by removing the soluble part of the systems. Great variations in the composition of commercial crown and bridge veneering materials were demonstrated.
