Aida Mulic`s research interest is on the prevalence, risk indicators, prevention and treatment (non-operative and operative) related to dental caries and tooth wear. In addition, other research topics within the field of cariology, e.g. genetics, tooth bleaching, dental developmental defects and saliva, are of interest. Mulic is also involved in the standardisation. 

At NIOM, Mulic is initiating and coordinating research collaborations with public bodies both in Norway and across the Nordic countries. Examples of this include the regional competence centres, professional research bodies and educational institutions. She is initiating and working with the projects, which are combinations of basic- and applied clinical research, which are relevant in the everyday practice of dental health professionals. 

Mulic gained her degree of Master of Dentistry and did her dissertation at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Oslo. She completed special education in cariology in 2016. Since 2016, she gains a position as a senior researcher at NIOM, in addition to being Professor of cariology at the University of Tromsø, and a general practitioner in a part-time position.
